Publication Ethics and Transparency Policy

Publication Ethics and Transparency Policy

The Vietnam Journal of Agricultural Sciences (VJAS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, transparency, and academic integrity. VJAS has publicly established policies for plagiarism detection, article retraction, conflict of interest management, and copyright protection.

Plagiarism Detection and Handling

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and similarity using appropriate plagiarism detection software (Ithenticate) prior to peer review. Plagiarism in any form, including unattributed use of others’ work, excessive similarity, and self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. Manuscripts found to contain unacceptable levels of plagiarism will be rejected (over 30%). Published articles may be retracted if plagiarism is identified post-publication.

Retraction and Correction Policy

VJAS reserves the right to retract published articles in cases of serious ethical violations, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication or falsification, fraudulent research practices, or major errors that invalidate the findings. Retractions and corrections are conducted transparently in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research, review, or publication process. Failure to disclose relevant conflicts of interest may result in rejection or retraction of the manuscript.

Copyright and Publishing Ethics

VJAS does not accept manuscripts that violate copyright laws or intellectual property rights. Submissions must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. Any unauthorized use of copyrighted materials is strictly prohibited.

Research Misconduct

The Journal does not tolerate research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, or misleading presentation of results. Manuscripts found to involve such misconduct will be rejected, and appropriate actions may be taken, including notification of authors’ institutions when necessary.

By submitting a manuscript to VJAS, authors confirm their compliance with these ethical standards and acknowledge VJAS’s policies on publication ethics and transparency.
